TPFF Partners With Civil Society Organisations on Governance Advocacy

The Taraba Progressive Frontiers Forum has formalised a strategic collaboration with a coalition of civil society organisations operating across Taraba State, with the shared goal of strengthening governance advocacy, civic education, and accountability at both state and local government levels. The partnership, which was sealed at a signing ceremony held in Jalingo, brings together organisations with expertise in legal advocacy, community mobilisation, media engagement, and legislative monitoring. Under the agreement, the coalition will jointly conduct civic education programmes in schools, markets, and community centres to improve public understanding of governance processes, citizens’ rights, and the role of elected officials. The partners will also establish a joint legislative monitoring desk to track the performance of state lawmakers and local government councillors against their electoral promises and statutory responsibilities. TPFF’s Director of Programmes described the partnership as a force multiplier, noting that by combining resources, networks, and expertise, the coalition can achieve far greater impact than any single organisation working alone. The initiative is expected to directly engage over 50,000 citizens across Taraba State within its first year of operation, with a particular focus on reaching underserved rural communities and marginalised groups including women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
