TPFF Launches Skills Acquisition Hub in Jalingo

Taraba Progressive Frontiers Forum has officially launched its first Skills Acquisition and Innovation Hub in Jalingo, the state capital of Taraba State. The hub, which was established in response to growing youth unemployment across the state, is designed to train young men and women in a wide range of vocational and digital skills including tailoring, graphic design, digital marketing, welding, and entrepreneurship development. The facility is equipped with modern training tools and staffed by experienced facilitators drawn from both the public and private sectors. Over 200 beneficiaries are expected to pass through the programme in its first year alone, with plans already in motion to replicate the model in other local government areas across Taraba State. TPFF’s Executive Director described the hub as a critical investment in the future of Taraba’s youth, noting that skills development remains one of the most effective pathways out of poverty. Community members who attended the launch expressed excitement and gratitude, with many young people already enrolled in their preferred training tracks. The Forum is currently in discussions with several private sector partners to provide job placement and startup funding support for graduates of the programme.
